Bachelor of Science Clinical Laboratory Science
Program Description
The Clinical Laboratory Science program prepares students to become licensed clinical laboratory technologists. Technologists discover the presence or absence of disease in collected samples, and provide data that help physicians determine the best treatment for a patient. CLS students will take three years of general education, basic and advanced science courses, followed by a clinical year that combines professional internships at regional hospital clinical laboratories with coursework.
Representative career opportunities for graduates of the Clinical Laboratory Science bachelor's degree are:
- Hospital-based and private diagnostic clinical laboratory scientists*

Admission Requirements
- Official academic transcripts and/or Foreign Academic Credential Evaluation (FACE)* for all foreign transcripts. Evaluations of foreign transcripts are accepted from any NACES or AICE member such as WES, IFCS, Scholaro, or SpanTran.
- Mercy College takes a holistic approach in reviewing each student’s application. In the admission decision, we review a student’s transcript and academic record, including the courses taken and the grades attained. Other factors considered include the written essay, letters of recommendation, leadership potential, extracurricular and service-related activities.
- We do not require ACT or SAT for international undergraduate students
