Program Description

Develop a foundation in criminal justice and homeland security to find employment in federal, state and local agencies as well as in the private security field. Criminal Justice is a challenging, exciting and rewarding career. The 4-year Criminal Justice major will prepare you for the profession, help you advance if you’re already in it, and/or also prepare you for graduate school. The greatest strength of the criminal justice program at Mercy University is the academic and professional diversity of the faculty, which includes attorneys, law enforcement officers, homeland security specialists and other professionals who have hands-on experience in the criminal justice system in the metropolitan area.

Admission Requirements

• Official academic transcripts and/or Foreign Academic Credential Evaluation (FACE)* for all foreign transcripts. Evaluations of foreign transcripts are accepted from any NACES or AICE member such as WES, IFCS, Scholaro, or SpanTran.
• Mercy College takes a holistic approach in reviewing each student’s application. In the admission decision, we review a student’s transcript and academic record, including the courses taken and the grades attained. Other factors considered include the written essay, letters of recommendation, leadership potential, extracurricular and service-related activities.
• We do not require ACT or SAT for international undergraduate students
