Program Description
Learn the skills and background to become an integral part of the financial success of any organization. With a Bachelor of Science in Public Accounting degree, you’ll be prepared for the business world. That includes: business concepts, the accountant's ethical responsibilities and role in the business world.
You’ll learn:
- Accounting principles and procedures
- Federal income taxation
- Auditing standards and procedures
Public Accounting graduates may seek positions such as:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- government auditor
- internal auditor, financial advisor
- revenue agent
- tax accountant
- management services accountant
Admission Requirements
- Official academic transcripts and/or Foreign Academic Credential Evaluation (FACE)* for all foreign transcripts. Evaluations of foreign transcripts are accepted from any NACES or AICE member such as WES, IFCS, Scholaro, or SpanTran.
- Mercy College takes a holistic approach in reviewing each student’s application. In the admission decision, we review a student’s transcript and academic record, including the courses taken and the grades attained. Other factors considered include the written essay, letters of recommendation, leadership potential, extracurricular and service-related activities.
- We do not require ACT or SAT for international undergraduate students
