In an increasingly competitive, commercial and technological environment, communication and branding professionals have never played such a central role in buying, retail, import and export, digital marketing and more.
Study BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Branding at ARU, and develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that are critical to international fashion design and business functions. You’ll gain a broad understanding of the fields of fashion, branding, journalism, PR, marketing and management in a global context and develop an understanding of the complex issues surrounding sustainable fashion and environmental impact.In your first year, you’ll learn about the fundamental principles of marketing in the context of the fashion retail industry and fashion system. As well as exploring the factors that affect business, including elements of globalisation and international business and the fundamental skills needed in the world of business, you’ll look at the product development process and how consumer behaviour can indicate potential products and markets. You’ll also learn to create an Integrated Marketing Communications Strategy using multimedia platforms, while examining public relations as a management function of marketing. By taking part in initial ‘small-scale’ and introductory projects, you’ll research and develop the necessary skills for larger projects in years 2 and 3, and learn to critically reflect on both your strengths and areas for development to identify your development needs.
