As a Major student in Music, you choose modules to the value of 40 credits in each semester from the pathways in Musicology and Performance Studies. You then take modules to the value of 20 credits in each semester in History. Here, you develop a wide range of written, verbal, and analytical skills through the study of the historical processes that have shaped modern society. You will explore topics such as Film and the Vietnam War, Witchcraft and Magic, the Russian Revolution, United States’ Foreign Policy and many more. Studying Music with History prepares you for a range of careers both inside and outside of the music industry. Our Music students have been successful in establishing careers as composers and performers, studio engineers, teachers, community music leaders and many progress to postgraduate study at the University of Ulster and other domestic and international institutions.
