Program Description

English Literature and Spanish with a Year Abroad is an exciting and challenging course which opens up a range of career possibilities by helping you to develop transferable skills that employers want.You will have the chance to explore national and global literatures including Renaissance writings, Gothic and genre fiction, 19th century literature and contemporary fiction. Other topics include gender and culture, creative and professional writing. You will also become a scholar of the rich language, history and culture of Spain, Portugal and Latin America. The course covers contemporary Spanish politics, 20th and 21st century Spanish and Catalan literature as well as translation and teaching. You can further enhance your career prospects by spending a year in a Spanish-speaking country.Our graduates enter careers in a wide range of sectors including:

Admission Requirements

• Arab Students:- Candidates are expected to have achieved one of the following in the relevant curriculum:
  • Al-Thanawaya Al-Amah (GSEC): 60% overall including 60% in 5 relevant subjects
  • American High School: Minimum GPA 2.0 (70%)
  • Cambridge iGCSE: 5 passed with a minimum C grade average
  • IB Certificate: Min 20 Points and must pass mathematics
• Indian Students:-Candidates are expected to have achieved 70% Year XII including Standard XII in English - 70% or above (or equivalent).
