BA (Hons) Geography
Program Description
Our three-year BA Geography degree is suitable for students with more of an interest in human geography. You will cover geographical themes including global environmental change and the human impact, urban modelling, creative geographies and migration.
- A flexibly structured degree path which can be customised with a mixture of human and physical geography modules. Students will have the opportunity to study abroad for a year or work in industry for a year, either locally, nationally or overseas.
- At Swansea we place a strong emphasis on fieldwork. Our field-courses take students to areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Gower Peninsula, and to locations across the world such as Borneo, The Indian Himalayas and Mallorca
Our graduates have become Catchment Scientists, Ecologists, Geographical Data Processors, Surveyors, Housing Officers, Meteorologists, Journalists, Government Advisors and Lecturers.
Admission Requirements
- Arab Students:- Candidates are expected to have achieved one of the following in the relevant curriculum:
- Al-Thanawaya Al-Amah (GSEC): 60% overall including 60% in 5 relevant subjects
- American High School: Minimum GPA 2.0 (70%)
- Cambridge iGCSE: 5 passed with a minimum C grade average
- IB Certificate: Min 20 Points and must pass mathematics
- Indian Students:-Candidates are expected to have achieved 70% Year XII including Standard XII in English - 70% or above (or equivalent).

- You can undertake our Year in Industry degree variant, which is a four year degree with a year’s work placement in a chosen industry.
