Program Description

Put your fascination with the past to good use by studying History at Swansea University. You’ll build the skills valued by employers across a range of sectors, while exploring the human condition from the middle ages to the present.

History and Welsh explores medieval, early modern and modern history through subjects including women’s history and gender, cultural history and the history of religion, health and medicine. You will also learn about Welsh language rights, Multiculturalism and Welsh Language and Literature throughout the centuries. Studying this three-year degree course opens up a range of exciting career opportunities by helping you develop skills, which are highly valued by employers.Studying History develops skills in critical thought, written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and information gathering and analysis.

Admission Requirements

• Arab Students:- Candidates are expected to have achieved one of the following in the relevant curriculum:
  • Al-Thanawaya Al-Amah (GSEC): 60% overall including 60% in 5 relevant subjects
  • American High School: Minimum GPA 2.0 (70%)
  • Cambridge iGCSE: 5 passed with a minimum C grade average
  • IB Certificate: Min 20 Points and must pass mathematics
• Indian Students:-Candidates are expected to have achieved 70% Year XII including Standard XII in English - 70% or above (or equivalent).
