Program Description

We are looking for students ready to accept a challenge. Our goal is to give students the background to use mathematics in a variety of ways through training in mathematical rigor. This can enhance your ability to analyze and solve problems in all walks of life. We also emphasize the development of communication skills, something useful in the classroom and the workplace. If you are just entering college, we encourage you to consider our fast-track program.

Careers with an M.S. in Math

The M.S. program is designed to prepare students for careers in:

• secondary or junior college-level teaching,
• business,
• industry,
• government, and
• Ph.D. programs

Admission Requirements

• Successful applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• An important role in our assessment of your qualifications is played by the letters of evaluation as well as by a sufficiently high score in the quantitative part of the GRE General Test, indicating that you are prepared for graduate studies in mathematics.
