Program Description

The MSN Program at UAB, ranked 15th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, offers four distinct pathways, one for nurse midwives, one for nurse practitioners, one for health systems leaders, and an accelerated master’s in nursing pathway for entry into professional nursing practice for individuals with a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field.

Each pathway provides career-minded students the opportunity to learn from some of the nation's leading nursing and interprofessional faculty in the state's only Academic Health Science Center, giving them the foundation they need to be leaders across nursing and health care, making a difference in the lives of the patients and families they serve.

Admission Requirements

  • Successful applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Indian Students-3 Years bachelor's degree acceptable only from NAAC A accredited university with 1st division
