Master of Arts Speech-Language Pathology

Program Description

The Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology will lead you to eligibility for clinical certification by preparing you to assess, diagnose, and clinically treat people with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders. You'll have many clinical opportunities to work with people of all ages with diverse communication needs under the supervision of our skilled clinical instructors. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside faculty mentors and experienced staff in state-of-the-art facilities. Conduct or assist with research projects that focus on understanding or improving all forms of communication, work with patients ranging from infants to the elderly. Gain hands-on experience in our Speech-Language and Hearing Clinics that serve people in central and northern Michigan.

Our program will prepare you to work with individuals of all ages who have needs related to:

  • Articulation.
  • Fluency.
  • Voice and resonance.
  • Receptive and expressive language.
  • Hearing.
  • Swallowing.
  • Cognitive aspects of communication.
  • Social aspects of communication.
  • Communication modalities.

Admission Requirements

  • Overall GPA of 3.0 in bachelor degree.

  • Total 62 credit program, per credit $925.
